Healthy Green Beans Almondine
Equipment
- 1 8×8 baking dish
- Aluminum foil
- 1 Grater or zester
- Measuring cups and spoons
Ingredients
- 1 lb Fresh green beans
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 1/8 cup Slivered almonds
- 1 tsp Lemon juice
- Zest of half lemon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Wash and trim the ends of the fresh green beans. Optionally, you can cut them into bite-sized pieces.
- Place the green beans in a baking dish and drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil over them. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of salt and toss to coat the beans evenly.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the green beans are tender but still slightly crisp.
- Once the green beans are done, remove them from the oven and transfer them to a serving dish.
- Sprinkle the slivered almonds over the baked green beans.
- Drizzle the lemon juice over the dish. Grate the zest of half a lemon over the beans and almonds to add a zesty flavor.
