Equipment

  • 1 9×5 or 8×5 baking pan
  • 1 Large mixing bowl
  • 1 Whisk or Mixing Spoon

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable or canola oil
  • 1/3 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup Cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup Chocolate chunks

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325°. Line a 9×5 or 8×5 baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, melt the butter in the microwave.
  • Add granulated sugar and brown sugar to the melted butter. Whisk until the mixture is fully combined.
  • Add the egg and vanilla to the sugar-butter mixture. Whisk until well combined.
  • Whisk in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until the flour mixture is fully incorporated.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chunks to distribute them evenly throughout the batter.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it to cover the entire loaf pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  • To check for doneness, insert a toothpick into the center of the brownies. It should come out with just a few wet crumbs when they are ready.
  • Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing into them. Once cooled, enjoy!

Notes

Depending on your preference for thicker or thinner brownies, you can use either a 9×5 or an 8×5 baking pan. Adjust the baking time accordingly.
Feel free to customize the brownies by adding nuts, swirls of caramel, or a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking for additional flavor and texture.
