If you’ve been following me for awhile, then you already know that I am a huge proponent of magnesium. In fact, it’s one of the only supplements that I recommend and have found true value and results in.

I have shared my love for 1st Phorm’s powdered magnesium many times. I take a scoop of it before bed almost religiously and it helps me sleep better, recover better, and reduce muscle cramping. My only gripe with this supplement is that it’s a powder that needs to be mixed into water and drank before bed. At this point in my life, I don’t need any more reasons to get up and pee at night.

I have tried gummy Magnesium supplements from Amazon and Costco and didn’t see or notice any results. Capsules are a little boring to me, but when Momentous sent me a bottle of their Magnesium L-Threonate, I decided to give it a try. Here are my thoughts!

Why I Tried It

I tried Momentous Magnesium because they sent me a bottle to try. I already believe in the power and importance of magnesium, but I had never tried it in a capsule before, so why not?

I did a little research into Momentous before trying the product, it appeared to be a pretty legitimate brand that caters to those who prioritize a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

Getting Started

Momentous Magnesium recommendation is 3 capsules taken in the evening, 30-60 minutes before bedtime. I took my first dose about 30  minutes before bed. The capsules are pretty big, so if you’re not someone who enjoys swallowing pills, that’s definitely something to keep in mind. Plus, there are 3 of them, so it can feel like a lot.

The first night I tried it, I was exceptionally tired from a long day, so my results could be skewed a bit, but I slept like a rock that night. I woke up feeling refreshed and energized. I did note that I had a slight headache the next morning, but that was likely due to my impending period.

I have continued to take the capsules every night before bed, giving it about 30-45 minutes before I wanted to be asleep. Each night thus far, I have fallen asleep very naturally, there’s no hard crash or super sleepiness, just a peaceful, tired, drifting feeling – which is my favorite. It’s helping my brain to shut down and let go which is important for me as an entrepreneur whose mind is always racing.

Results Thus Far

After starting Momentous Magnesium, I have noticed improved sleep. I am falling asleep quicker and more peacefully and waking up refreshed and rested. I still need to get up and use the bathroom at some point in the night, but getting back to sleep has been effortless. Switching to capsules to avoid the extra liquid from the powdered magnesium I typically take didn’t do much for me in that department, unfortunately.

The other thing I noticed was that my foot and leg cramping has been reduced since I started taking this product. Prior to starting, I was experiencing frequent cramping in the feet and the backs of my legs, which I chalked up to needing to stretch more. However, I definitely think the magnesium is helping with that.

I haven’t noticed many other changes thus far, but I wouldn’t expect anything drastic to happen with a magnesium supplement.

Things to Consider

This first bottle of Magnesium Threonate from Momentous was sent to me for free, but the cost to keep up with it monthly is $34.47 if you do the subscription and $49.95 if you do a one-time purchase. Obviously, taking advantage of the subscription would be beneficial from a cost standpoint.

Compared to my usual magnesium supplement from 1st Phorm, which costs $36.49 for the monthly subscription or $39.99 for the one-time purchase, Momentous is slightly more expense, but nearly the same if you go the subscription route.

If I were choosing between the two brands (Momentous and 1st Phorm), it would come down to which delivery method I prefer (capsules or powder) as I experience similar results from both products.

I don’t mind taking the capsules, but definitely prefer the powdered version. My only problem with that is the extra liquid I’m drinking before bed. The capsules are also handy because I can take them anywhere and easily be able to continue my magnesium routine even while traveling.

Final Thoughts

I am thoroughly impressed with Momentous Magnesium and will continue to use it for the duration of my free bottle at which point I will decide if I want to continue with this product or go back to the powdered one. Honestly, I’m just excited to have options both for myself and to offer to my clients!

Do you take magnesium daily? If not, I highly recommend starting. It’s an absolute game-changer for so many women, myself included.
