Ingredients
- Grilled Chicken Breast: To keep this recipe super simple and convenient, I used Perdue Short Cuts Grilled Chicken Strips. You can make your own grilled chicken if you prefer!
- Tzatziki Sauce: I used Boar’s Head Tzatziki Greek Yogurt dip- this stuff is SO delicious!
- Veggies: I used mini cucumber, spinach, and cherry tomatoes. Other vegetables that would be good are red onions, peppers, or romaine lettuce.
- Pita Bread: I picked up Toufayan Whole Wheat Pita Bread. I suggest using a whole wheat variety to help increase your overall whole grain intake which is higher in fiber!
- Feta: For this recipe, I used Athenos reduced fat feta crumbles to keep the fat content lower. Personally I love the flavor of feta cheese, but some may not, so you may omit if needed.

FAQ’s
Can I make the chicken myself?
If you prefer to and have the time, absolutely! To make the chicken on the grill, grill them on medium-heat for 5 minutes on one side, turn over and cook for another 3-5 minutes. Internal temperature should register 165 degrees F. To bake chicken in the oven, bake at 375 degrees F for about 20 minutes or until done.
What should I serve with chicken gyros?
If you’ve ever been to a Greek restaurant, they typically serve gyros with french fries! Other options could be Greek salad (my favorite), Mediterranean orzo salad, grilled zucchini, braised white beans, or roast potatoes.
