Macro-Friendly Chicken Pesto Sliders
Equipment
- 1 Baking dish (9×13 inches or large enough to fit all rolls)
- 1 Cutting board + knife
- 1 Pastry brush
- 1 Serving platter or tray
Ingredients
- 1 12-pack King's Hawaiian Buttery Rolls
- 8 Slices Deli Chicken
- 6 Slices Low-moisture part skim mozzarella cheese
- 4 tbsp. Pesto
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees and generously coat a 9×13-inch baking dish (or a dish large enough to accommodate all the rolls) with nonstick spray. Carefully slice the Buttery Rolls through the center, creating a top and bottom while keeping all 12 rolls connected.
- Evenly distribute sliced chicken and cheese over the bottom rolls, layering four slices of chicken followed by four more, and arranging three slices of cheese along the top half and three along the bottom to ensure even coverage.
- Brush the tops of the sliders with a portion of the pesto, then pour the remaining pesto over the mozzarella. Place the top rolls on the prepared bottom layer.
- Arrange the assembled rolls in the baking dish and cut all 12 into individual portions, allowing for easy separation. Loosely cover the rolls with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 5 minutes to achieve a crisp texture on the rolls.
- Once the cheese has fully melted, take the sliders out of the oven and serve. Enjoy!
