Equipment

  • 1 Cooking spoon
  • 1 9x13 baking dish
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Knife and cutting board

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Extra lean ground turkey
  • 1 15 oz can Sloppy joe sauce
  • 1 6 oz. can Pilsbury Grands Buttermilk Biscuits
  • 1 cup Reduced-fat colby jack cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 cup Onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and bell pepper and sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  • Add the ground turkey to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Cook until the turkey is browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in the canned sloppy joe sauce and bring to a simmer. Cook for 3-4 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Remove from heat.
  • Transfer the sloppy joe mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Sprinkle the shredded reduced-fat Colby Jack cheese evenly over the top of the sloppy joe mixture.
  • Separate the Pillsbury Grands Biscuits and cut each biscuit into quarters. Arrange the biscuit pieces on top of the cheese layer in a single layer.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
